Kingdoms is a strategy game where you build a mighty empire from a single city. You must carefully plan your moves: decide what to construct, which soldiers to enlist, who to trade with, and when to forge alliances or declare war.
The game features four distinct cultures: Slavs, Norsemen, Knights, and Steppe, each with its own unique buildings and warriors. The hexagonal map includes various biomes and resources. When you capture a tile, it becomes a province that you can develop and protect with a garrison.
You'll need to manage resources like food, wood, stone, gold, population, and stability. These resources are essential for constructing buildings, recruiting troops, making upgrades, and conducting diplomacy. At key moments, you'll choose doctrines that will influence your realm for the rest of the game.
Victory can be achieved through military might, economic prosperity, or cultural dominance. You can play a standard game or take on the Daily Challenge, where everyone competes on the same map.
How to play
Set up your ruler by selecting a culture, ambition, and difficulty level. In a standard game, you'll get a fresh map, while the Daily Challenge offers the same layout for everyone.
In the Map section, pick tiles, check province information, and strike at adjacent enemies — you can launch one attack each turn. Following a clash, a tile might be conquered or raided.
Switch to the Realm tab to build and enhance structures. Focus on your economy first: food, gold, and stability are key to enduring the initial turns and expanding your capital.
On the Army tab, enlist soldiers and upgrade them. Your capital army is for offensive actions, while garrisons protect your provinces.
Use the Diplomacy tab to forge trade deals and alliances, monitor relations with neighboring realms, or declare war.
Once you've made your moves, press End Turn. Resources will be gathered, neighboring players will take their turns, threats will be dealt with, and events may unfold.
